Editor's review
This is software that converts PDF documents to page flipping flash content.
aXmag Free is a conversion tool for creating page flipping reading experience. Static PDF documents can be enlivened by turning the content into a page turning book format that gives the reader a close to actual book reading experience. The way this works is, you get a client through which you upload the content to the conversion server. There is a desktop version also available. The content can be converted in one of three types, suitable for three reading style. One is where the book opens in the middle with two pages displayed on two sides. The right hand page can be flipped like in an actual book. When zoomed in, you could read from visible part of either page. The second style allows two pages to be displayed as in the first case but on zooming in, only one page is displayed. You can use the mouse wheel to read through the page. This style can be generated only in the desktop version of the software. The third version shown only one page and there are no 3D effects available. This too is available on the desktop version of the software.
The converted content in the first style is very good. The other two styles are also good too. They are generally attractive as anything created in Flash is likely to be. However, it is the first style that is the most attractive and should be able to draw the attention of your viewers. The publishers use something they call "ClearVector" technology. The technology apparently creates smaller files, crisper graphics and clear text too. The results are visible, text, and graphics are converted very well from the original PDF documents. This is a very good tool for creating on-line publications.
